OBSESSION

OBSESSION
n. f.

Action de celui qui obsède quelqu’un, qui est tellement assidu auprès de lui, que d’autres personnes ne peuvent en approcher. Il ne le quitte point : c’est une obsession. Il me fatigue par ses continuelles obsessions.

Il s’emploie surtout au figuré et désigne un état psychique consistant dans la présence à l’esprit d’une préoccupation ou d’une représentation, son ou image, que la volonté ne parvient pas à écarter. Ce souvenir est pour moi une obsession. Cet air me poursuit comme une véritable obsession.
